- Containers are used for what?

- Can I later extend or downsize the container-complex?
Based on the frame construction type, structurally every container is a closed system. Thus singular units can be removed in a container-building, without affecting the structure.

Later on it’s also possible to parallel or frontally install other containers or to add up to 3 floors to the building.
- Can the containers be dismantled and then rebuilt on another site?
The container construction method is a very flexible building system.

Complete buildings or container-complexes can be dismantled and then rebuilt and extended on another site without a problem and reasonably priced.
- How long do the containers last?
RO CONTAIN Containers are built for a service life of 20 - 30 years. The condition is that, as in the case of any conventional building, maintenance measures are executed regularly.
- How long is the amortisation period?
Containers currently have acc. to the amortisation table an amortisation period of 10 years.

Given that the Fiscal Authority classifies more and more often stationary container-complexes as buildings, there are possible also amortisation periods for normal buildings (up to 30 years).
- HHow long and how wide can my building made out of containers be?
The length of the container respectively of the container-building is decided by you ore the local conditions: Through assembly at the parallel or frontal sides, buildings as big as desired cand be constructed using the container construction method.
- The containers can be delivered having what measurements?
The singular container units can be delivered with lengths up to 12.19 m and widths of 2.45 m and 3.00 m.
The room heights are of 2.50 m, 2.75 m and 3.00 m.
- How many floors can my building have?
RO CONTAIN Container can be assembled at ground level or having 2 floors.
Special constructions can be assembled having also 3- 5 floors.
To use assembly places more efficient, it also possible to assemble containers upon a steel or concrete substructure.
- Is there necessary a building license for the assembly of the containers?
Yes, because basically the obtaining of a building license is necessary for all building measures. Please discuss exceptions with your competent Building License Authority.
- Who petitions the building license?
The petitioning of the building license lies at the client’s discretion.
In case the building license is necessary, it is usually petitioned by the builder or his architect.
- Which documents delivers RO CONTAIN for the petitioning of a building license?
Following the contract award, RO CONTAIN delivers the verified type structure, the necessary architectural drawings (layout, views, vertical section) in the scale 1:100, the effective area calculation as well as the heat insulation calculation.

On request you also obtain an onject-related foundation plan.
- Must there be built foundations for the container?
The normal foundation for containers consists of frost-protected individual footing or strip footing corresponding to the object-related foundation plan. The foundations are founded usually 1.00 m deep and have a width of 0.25 m.

In case of assembly for a short term, ex. for a period of several days or weeks, normally a planning level, sufficient sustainable surface, ex. an existing parking place or something similar is enough, or a foundation of special plastic material panels. This foundation though is not given a building license.
- Are the provisions of the Workplace Regulations observed?
RO CONTAIN plans and delivers according to the provisions of the Workplace Regulations.
- Where can the interior walls, windows and doors be located?
Windows and doors can be located anywhere inside the exterior walls. The interior walls will be inserted according to your demands.
- In what colours can my container be painted outside?
The containers are delivered in all RAL-colours.
The ceiling and floor frame, as well as the vertical supporting structure can be colour contrasted at the request of the client.
- What will be inserted as footwaling and top panel?
The serial footwaling as well as the top panelling consist of various coated derived timber product panels. O request we can deliver plasterboard respectively plaster fibreboard or acoustical ceiling.
- How high are the floor loads at the containers?
For the serial construction the floor load at the ground level and the upper floor is of 2.0 kN/m². For special constructions we can deliver floor loads at the ground level of up to 10.0 kN/m².
- Which floor coverings can be delivered?
According to standard we deliver ex works PVC coverings.
For special constructions we can deliver all usual commercial floor coverings.
- Is the roof accesible?
Of course are at the RO CONTAIN - Container the roofs accessible.
- What roof loads do the containers have?
The structural proven roof load is of 1.0 kN/m².
Higher roof loads can be delivered up to 2.5 kN/m².
- How are floor, exterior and interior walls, as well as the roof insulated?
Serially the containers are insulated with mineral cotton at the floor with 120 mm, in the exterior walls with 100 mm and in the roof with 100 mm.
On request we can deliver insulation in the floors of up to 170 mm, in the exterior walls of up to 140 mm and in the roof of up to 170 mm.
- What fire protection category do the containers have?
The standard construction of the houses cannot be included in any fire protection category. As special constructions containers can be delivered with up to F 90 - by using corresponding fire protection panels as footwaling, as well as corresponding covering of supporting structure respectively applying of a fire protection paint coating.
- Which local and provided by customer conditions are necessary?
We have implied in our price evaluation that the assembly place for the containers should provide unhindert access to trucks, truck-mounted crane and assembly vehicles.
Our offer also informs you whether we have stipulated in it to provide the crane for unloading and assembly, as well as containers for refuse and recyclable fraction.
- What must the client do?
Normally the client does the following:
  • Petitioning the building license
  • Preparing the foundations
  • Supplying electricity, water, gas and sewerage
  • Final clean-up

You are informed regarding the exact delivery and service volume and the client’s obligations by our offer specially drawn up for you.
- Can I assembly my container by myself?
Theoretically it is possible. Though we suggest you assign the assembly of the container buildings to our specialised assemblers.
- How long is the assembly and extension time on site?
Single containers do not need assembly and extension services on site. In these cases everything is assembled and installed completely ex works. The client must only undertake the electrical connection. Smaller container-complexes can be assembled completely in a few days.
- Does the electrical installation correspond with the VDE
(German Electrical Engineering Association) provisions?
Yes, RO CONTAIN delivers containers exclusively corresponding to the VDE provisions.
- Do you also take into consideration special local provisions and how do you take
into consideration our company-owned provisions for electrical installations?

In case the local or company-owned provisions transcend the VDE provisions, please let us know this before the offer calculation, so that we can take into consideration these provisions in our pricing.
- Do the water installation and sewerage correspond with the pertinent provisions?
Yes, the installation is done according to the pertinent DIN provisions.
- Do you also take into consideration special local provisions?
And what about our company-owned provisions for water installations and sewerage?

In case the local or company-owned provisions transcend the DIN provisions, please let us know this before the offer calculation, so that we can take into consideration these provisions in our pricing.
- How is the water connection and the sewerage installed and who executed these works?
The water and sewerage pipework will be executed by the client until the established handing over point. This handing over point is usually inside the container building. The pipe inlet in the container is made through the exterior wall.
The water and sewerage connections are indicated in the foundation plan that you obtain following the contract award.
- What can you deliver in regards to sanitary installations?
RO CONTAIN delivers all sanitary installations that you are familiar with from conventional constructions.
- How are the container heated?
Normally the heating is provided by electrical direct heaters. The heating of the spaces can also be done through a warm water heating system. In this case normally it is connected to an existing heating system.
Our containers can of course be delivered with an air conditioner.
